The Dynetics Solutions Complex is a multi-story building totaling 226,500 square feet. It is designed to support commercial and government programs and to provide flexibility for specific customer requirements. The complex enables consolidation of electronics fabrication and assembly, as well as mechanical test equipment including a thermal vacuum chamber and a shaker table.
Minnesota based Polaris Industries selected Huntsville, Alabama as the site of its new assembly plant for the Ranger series of off-road vehicles. The plant is approximately 910,000 square feet and will employ approximately 1700 people. The $142 million plant is located on a 453 acre site west of downtown Huntsville. The Alabama plant performs several key functions, including vehicle assembly, chassis and body painting, welding, fabrication and injection molding. Future additions as well as a test track and Research and Development Center are proposed.
The Academy for Academics and Arts is the Huntsville City Schools first magnet school. They completed the improvements to their new facility in 2016. The construction included a new state of the art theater complex along with the complete renovation and upgrade to the former Edward White Middle School.
Defense Acquisition University (DAU) is a corporate university associated with the United States Department of Defense located in Research Park in Huntsville, Alabama. GEO Solutions performed geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting and materials testing for the project. The project included a 40,000 square foot, two-story office building with associated access drives and at-grade parking.
James Clemens High School is located off of County Line Road in Madison, Alabama. The campus consists of approximately 315,000 square feet with multiple structures with associated drives, parking and athletic fields. GEO Solutions provided the geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting and construction materials testing services for the project.
Bridge Street Town Centre is located within Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, Alabama. GEO Solutions performed geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting and construction materials testing services associated with the development of the entire complex and worked directly for the owner during the three years of initial construction.
The Shops at Merchants Walk is the newest retail development on South Memorial Parkway. Anchored by Whole Foods Market, the development includes multiple two-story retail/commercial buildings as well as a multi-level parking deck. The Shops at Merchants Walk is part of a revitalization of under used properties on Memorial Parkway.
The Village of Providence is located in Huntsville, Alabama and is one of the largest mixed use developments in North Alabama. The Village of Providence offers a wide range of residential options as well as retail, dining and work options that would be typically found in a larger city atmosphere. Development includes single-story residential structures to multi-story hotels and office/retail structures.
In 2004, The City of Huntsville started an infrastructure improvement project in the Big Spring/Von Braun Center area. Included in this project was a pre-engineered bridge over Big Spring Park as well as a multi-span bridge over Pinhook Creek. The project resulted in improved pedestrian and vehicular traffic flows, attracting new development to the area.
Martin Road is a major thoroughfare for traffic and the only access point on the west side of Redstone Arsenal. Redstone Arsenal and The City of Huntsville coordinated their efforts for needed improvements on this 3.9 mile stretch of roadway. The design and construction has occurred in several phases with the portions on Redstone Arsenal, including a new security check gate, being completed in 2015. Construction west of the gate began in 2017.
GEO Solutions was retained by the Limestone County Engineering Department to provide Geotechnical Engineering, Quality Assurance and Quality Control inspection and testing services for the Wooley Springs Road pavement rehabilitation. GEO Solutions was retained to conduct research and plan a rehabilitation program for the roadway. This would include recycling existing materials, applying a sufficient quantity of cement and water and compacting the blended material to form a stable base.
